JOIN THE HONOR SOCIETY
Nu Psi, the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, was chartered in May of 2013. Despite its relative infancy, Nu Psi has been active in both fundraising and community service. One of the most rewarding and mutually beneficial relationships Nu Psi has established is with the Laredo-Webb County Child Advocacy Center (CAC). Begun in 1995, the Laredo CAC’s mission is “to break the cycle of child abuse through community education, training and prevention and to allow the child a chance to heal through intervention in a child-sensitive environment.” The Laredo CAC provides community outreach and education programs, as well as a range of services to child victims of abuse, sexual abuse and domestic violence, including forensic interviews, therapy, summer camp and field trips and has served over 7,000 victims in its nearly two decades of existence.
~We the honor members of the Nu Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, will promote academic excellence in order to make the Criminal Justice System and its practicioners more effective and ethical.
